I’m leaning into creative non-fiction writing, delving into themes of mental illness, familial myth, and social stratification. An early adopter of social media, I used to work for iStockphoto and enjoyed a robust freelance writing career for many years. I’ve scaled back my online presence to Instagram, Linkedin, and now this blog.

Photography is an ongoing pursuit, and I miss shooting with an SLR. Unless otherwise noted, all images on this blog were taken by me, including the header photo (shot from a plane over the Rockies between Vancouver and Edmonton).  I trained to shoot film while in journalism school and at times I miss the dark room.

I’m a pescetarian (am I spelling that right?) and live in Vancouver with my partner, visual artist Osvaldo Ramirez Castillo.
